Year round rafting on the Mendoza river

The Mendoza is a free flowing river whose waters originate on the highest peaks in the andes. Relying on snowpack for its flow means it runs clear and low in the cold months and silky and wild in the summer and spring months. It’s a big volume river offering rapids from mild to wild.

Highwater season, rapid difficulty levels will be class 2-3-4 depending on water levels. No experience needed. Water will most likely be brown and silky due to sediment, Waves will be big and splashy offering an exhilarating ride. Age limit will be determined by water level.

Low water season, rapid difficulty levels will be class 2-3-4 but will become slower and more technical. The slower pace will give you time to enjoy the magnificent views. Great time for younger participants.

Amazing full day rafting experience!

Portreillos Explorer is an amazing company who are very friendly and well organized. We started our day off kayaking on the lake surrounded by mountains followed by a mouth watering 3 course meal included in our daily package and finishing the day with rafting on Rio Mendoza. The staff were friendly paitent and well equipped with cameras, cereal bars and smiles. Their energy was great and we even ended the great day relaxing on their porch with a beer.
